RWC #2

It's almost 1am... technically Friday...

Song phrase for this week:

"dark behind it rose the forest..."

Hints to come in comments if needed, I'm off to bed!

I tried to think of this without the aid of Google. I cannot get it.

Sounds sort of Pink Floydish, with a New Age twist. Hint?

Ok, hint #1 is that it is in the same vein as last week.

Well, what threw me is that I never knew it as a song. It's the opening line from "The Song Of Hiawatha," a poem by Longfellow. Was it ever set to music?

ReesePie said...

Yes, it was!

It's set to music and performed as an entire musical.

I've performed it myself 3 or 4 times in my childhood.

Yay, Jim! Winner #2!!!

That reminds me of another song lyric:

"Hiawatha never bothered too much
About Minnehaha and her tender touch
Till she took him to the silver stream
And she told him all about
What he couldn't live without
And made him all weak inside

And she said ...

Wig wam bam
Gonna make you my man
Wam bam bam
Gonna get you if I can
Wig wam bam
Gonna make you understand
Just try a little touch
When it's a little too much
Just try a little wig wam bam ...."

Wow. That's awful.
