Scott wants Buster to fly to Oregon with us for the wedding.
He (Buster) is a 70 pound Boxer. He will be 10 in July. The wedding is only 41 days away and we fly in 37 days.
It
would be fun to have him with us in the week following the wedding while we are enjoying time in a cabin on Mt. Hood, but I'm not sure he's up to traveling in the underbelly of a jet plane.
Ideas?

Talk to you vet...I had to fly Bronson when he was 5 years old, and he was fine. There are some pet services that could drive him, but I don't know anything about the cost. Plain John
I would love to have him there, that's not the issue, I just think it would terrify him and I don't want to put him through that. We don't even kennel him when we leave town - he stays with friends or they come by 3 times a day to take care of him.
I have no advice. I just wanted to say how cute your dog is.
I hope you can get him to the wedding. I am sure he would be the life of the party!
That's the other reason I'm hesitant, he wouldn't be allowed in the building at the church OR the reception. I just don't think it's worth it!
I probably would leave him home.
If there are concerns about his age/health and if he can't actually take part in the ceremony.
Though he probably would be fun to have around in the days after the wedding.
But then you have to worry about the trip back, too.
Are you having one of those photo montage things that are so popular at receptions? Where they show all the cute pics of you and your guy thoughout the relationship?
Maybe you can make sure to include lots of pics of you guys with all the crazy animals.
But the bottom line for me would be the well-being of the dog.
Even if he would be fine physically, would the stress be too much for him?
You know him best, so you will make the right call for all of you.
I agree...It would be more for the benefit of the humans to have him there, but more to the detriment of the d-o-g. He loves you, but I'm thinkin' he'd rather stay home...if I could wager a guess.
I tagged you on this meme thing on my blog. So now you have to do the same thing as I did...if you want.
Yeah, I think he'd rather stay home, too.
I'm hoping Scott will forget he suggested it. :)
I worry about it after reading some things about travel. If I can find the link, I'll send it to you. Of course, I worry about most anything, so don't take my worry for it.
