I have always wondered what the "M" on RSVP cards means. I looked it up.
The idea is that everyone's title (for the most part) begins with an
M. Mr., Mrs., Ms., etc. Apparently whoever invented the RSVP card format decided that it would be most helpful to provide the first letter to save the respondent some time.
Aren't you glad you asked?

What does "RSVP" mean?
respondez, si vous plais.
Not that I can spell in French...
I thought the M stood for Monsieur, Madame or Madamoiselle... in accordance with the whole "RSVP" frenchy thing.
That works too!
